Questions people ask

When can I play Fair Ludo?

Soon. We're testing it now. Email hello@yoploo.com to be an early tester, and we'll tell you when it's in the app stores and on the web.

Can I pay to win?

There is nothing to buy that helps you win, and there never will be. In Power mode, powers are earned only on the board: by landing exactly on a power square, or as the free reward for a clean run. Everyone plays by the same rules.

How do I know the dice aren't rigged?

Every roll is locked in before the game starts, and when the game ends anyone can re-check every roll. We'll publish exactly how it works, including what it doesn't cover yet, when Fair Ludo launches.

Why do I get more 6s at the start?

That's the published start boost: while you have no pawn on the board, the chance of a 6 is 1 in 3, and after three misses in a row you get a 6. It's the same for every player, so nobody waits forever to get going.

What do the gold 🎲 squares do?

They are roll-again squares, in Power mode only: one in each quarter of the board. Land exactly on one and you roll again straight away. It isn't a 6, so it doesn't count toward three 6s in a row, and powers never appear on these squares.

What is a clean run? Why is my pawn sparkling?

In Power mode, a pawn that goes all the way from the yard to home with no power used on its own moves, and without being captured, makes a clean run: you get a free power of your choice. Pawns still on a clean run sparkle ✨, and everyone sees the β€œClean run!” celebration. Picking up a power on the way is fine, and a power used on another pawn doesn't spoil it. If the pawn is captured, it starts a fresh run when it comes out again. You get 15 seconds to choose your power; if you don't, the game picks one for you. The game-over screen counts everyone's clean runs. (Classic has no powers, so no clean-run reward.)

Can I keep my powers secret?

The host decides, in the waiting room before the game starts: πŸ‘ Everyone sees everyone's powers is on unless they switch it off. When it's off, you only see your own powers (and your partner's in 2 v 2); other players show a β€œ?”. Our server doesn't even send other players' powers to your device, so nobody can peek. Everything is shown when the game ends. The power squares on the board, and who picks one up, stay visible to everyone.

Someone is rude in chat. What can I do?

Open the chat (the πŸ’¬ button at the bottom left, in your turn bar) and tap Block next to their name: you won't see their messages again in that game, and they aren't told. To tell us as well, tap Report and pick a reason (abuse, cheating, their name, or something else); reporting blocks them for you too. You can also email support@yoploo.com with the room code.

Do I need an account?

No. Just type a name (a nickname is fine) and play. We don't ask for your email or phone number to play. See our privacy policy.

Can friends on Android, iPhone and computer play together?

Yes. It's one game on one server, so everyone can join the same room whatever they play on.
